Contact forms
If you get in touch via our contact form, your name, email address, and comment will be sent to our staff. This information may be stored on our website as well. We will keep your contact information for as long as is required to answer your request.
Cookies
If you leave a comment on our site you may opt-in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.
If you visit our login page, we will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.

Customer Information
If you place an order on our website, whether through an account or with a guest checkout, we will gather personal information in order to complete your order. We will record your name, address, and the items you have ordered. This information will be stored in our website as well as in our personal records.
If you create a customer account for recurring purchases, we will store your name, username, and password in our system. Your profile will also store any fields that can be auto-filled by your profile, such as your address.
If you opt in for our mailing list, we will send you direct notifications from time to time about our products and services. You will never be added to our mailing list without your express consent, and you may opt out at any time. We will never share or sell our mailing list information to third parties.
Please note that this website and its online store is intended for clients aged 18 or older. Should we determine that personal information of a minor has been collected in error, it will be immediately deleted.
Who we share your data with
When you make an online purchase, your personal data (name, address, email address) will be shared with Moneris, our payment gateway, to facilitate payment. Basic information about your order (i.e. total amount and taxes) will be send to Moneris and they will keep a record of this transaction.
Our website does not store any payment details or credit card information.
Personal information entered as part of an online order, through our contact form, or left as a comment on our site will never be shared with anyone except the direct employees of Mariposa Design.
Legal Requirements
- We may also share your personal information when required to by law, or when matters of public health and safety are at stake. For example, we may share your information when:
- protecting the health and safety of our customers or employees
- addressing crimes committed on our property;
- identifying fraud;
- responding to a search warrant or other official inquiry;

How long we retain your data
For users that register on our website (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.
Information about online orders and transactions will be kept for at least seven years as per Canadian tax law.
What rights you have over your data
If you have an account on this site, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.
Information collected during an online purchase – including your name, address, and the amount of the order – will be shared with our payment gateway, Moneris. Please see the Moneris website for more information on their privacy policies.
Your payment information, such as credit card numbers, are not collected by this website or stored by Mariposa Design.
